The Kimax Tube is used for various testing purposes, particularly in the petroleum industry.
Applications:
Determination of Water and Sediment: Used in testing crude mineral oils, fuel oils, and other petroleum products according to D1796 and MPMS 10.4 Standards.
Volume of Precipitate: Measures the volume of precipitate formed by centrifuging specific quantities of steam cylinder stocks, black oils, and other lubricating oils (ASTM D91 and D128).
Water Insoluble Solids: Tests for water-insoluble solids in methylcellulose (ASTM D1347).
Acidity Testing: Used in testing the acidity of distillation residues or hydrocarbon liquids such as gasoline or petroleum solvents (ASTM D1093).
